The First Entry

Well, its 10pm on Sunday 26 June 2005. Around 20 hours ago, at 01:29, our daughter was born into the world. Three weeks early, and weighing only 5 lbs, she had a traumatic entrance to the world, following Sarah's pre-eclampsia, and had to be helped by the Venteuse.

Sarah's waters broke at 5:30pm the previous evening so it was a reasonably fast labour, which she managed to get through with just the TENS machine and gas & air.

She had her first feed at around 03:30, and Sarah had a bath, and then I could finally get to go home to sleep! Whlist I admire women for going through the pain of childbirth (and pregnancy), I have to say, the whole experience really took it out of me too!

I'll post some pictures and our final decision on our little baby's name tomorrow.
